Pakistan warns Iran of serious consequences after airspace violation kills two children
Pakistan has issued a stern warning to Iran following an airspace violation that resulted in the death of two children and injuries to others. The Foreign Office released a statement in the early hours of Wednesday condemning the unprovoked violation of Pakistan's airspace by Iran.
Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated, “Pakistan strongly condemns the unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran which resulted in the death of two innocent children while injuring three girls.”
Describing the violation as completely unacceptable and potentially leading to serious consequences, Baloch expressed deep concern that the act occurred despite existing communication channels between Pakistan and Iran.
"Pakistan's strong protest has already been lodged with the concerned senior official in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran," the spokesperson noted. The Iranian Charge d’affaires has also been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey a strong condemnation of this violation, with the responsibility for the consequences squarely placed on Iran.
The spokesperson emphasized that terrorism is a common threat to all countries in the region, requiring coordinated action. Such unilateral acts, not in line with good neighborly relations, can seriously undermine bilateral trust and confidence, she added.
