Ali Wong spills the secret to a stable relationship with Bill Hader
Ali Wong recently opened up about the key to maintaining a healthy relationship with Bill Hader, with whom she displayed affection at the Emmy Awards this year.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Wong revealed, “We’re very selectively private.” She mentioned, “I mean, we’ve been together for a minute, so it’s like, I guess people didn’t know we were together.”
The 41-year-old actress added, “It’s just also like, we’re both, like, in our 40s and parents.”
For context, Wong has two daughters with her ex-husband Justin Hakuta, while Hader shares three daughters with his former wife Maggie Carey.
On January 15, Wong shared a kiss with Hader as she won the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in Beef. In her emotional speech, Wong expressed gratitude to her parents and referred to her daughters as her “everything.”
Although Hader didn't win an Emmy, he received three nominations for his HBO series Barry: Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
Notably, the couple displayed public affection during this awards season despite walking the red carpet solo on Monday. Earlier this month, Wong kissed Hader after winning Best Actress in a Limited Series for her role in Beef at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards.
While the comedians were initially linked in late 2022 and reportedly parted ways later that year, Hader hinted in April 2023 that he and Wong had renewed their relationship.
