Itel launches its own “Super S26 Ultra” flagship before Samsung. This
phone is the successor to last year’s S25 Ultra model from itel. It’s up for
pre-order in Nigeria now, and the sales are supposed to begin mid-September.
Super S26 Ultra has a classy design, decent hardware, and most importantly, it
comes at an entry-level price.
The Itel S26 Ultra uses
a curved panel again, but the corners are rounder this time. Its screen has
been promoted to a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1.5k resolution. The AMOLED size,
however, is the same as last time at 6.78 inches. For what it costs, the design
is quite rich.

Now that Tecno and
Infinix have started a thin design trend at entry-level, itel also jumped on
the bandwagon by giving its Super S26 Ultra a 6.8mm build. It’s not quite there
yet, but the company might eventually develop its own sub-6mm handset soon.
The three phone makers
operated by Transsion Holdings continue to defy expectations. They keep
thinning down their devices while fitting bigger and bigger power packs within. itel's latest flagship model brings a
6000mAh capacity, which is the largest we’ve seen on such a thin frame.
It resists water with an
IP65 rating, and an AI rainproof touch feature keeps the screen operational
even if you spill liquid on it. The screen is outfitted with a layer of Gorilla
Glass 7i. It may repel scratches up to the Mohs level 6 or below (usually considered
midrange).
Itel officially
guarantees six years of consistent fluency here. The performance comes from
Unisoc’s latest and greatest 6nm T7300 chip, which is tamed by a 10-layer
IceCool thermal solution. Finally, a chip from Unisoc that outperforms
MediaTek’s Helio G99 on CPU charts.
